Radial magnetic coupling
Magnetic couplings are particularly well-suited for lightweight equipment operating at low to medium speeds with frequent forward and reverse rotation. As non-contact power transmission devices, they rely on multi-stage magnetic force transmission within a strong magnetic field. They offer numerous advantages, including non-contact operation, zero wear, ease of installation, tolerance for misalignment, vibration resistance, explosion-proof capabilities, isolation capabilities, and leak prevention.

Radial magnetic couplings are the most common type of magnetic coupling used in pump drives and other fluid-handling applications. Thanks to their ability to withstand high pressures and temperatures, they are suitable for a wide range of uses. Radial magnetic couplings featuring inner and outer rotors with either pre-drilled or blind bores are kept in stock to ensure rapid delivery. Finished bore tolerances comply with the ISO H7 standard, while keyway width tolerances adhere to the DIN 6885/1 JS9 standard. Eddy current losses generated by the rotating magnetic field within the metal isolation sleeve are converted into heat; consequently, customers may need to implement appropriate heat dissipation measures. In pump applications, however, the generated heat is generally dissipated by the pumped fluid itself. KUDOSWORLD can also provide specialized solutions should a customer require pressure resistance ratings that exceed standard specifications.
